An AED is a piece of life-saving equipment which can analyse the heart rhythm and if necessary, gives a high energy electric shock to the heart that may restore a more stable rhythm. AED’s are located on PAD Sites featuring at various locations sites around the Island.

A PAD site is a physical location on Guernsey (150+) that houses an AED. These sites remain accessible to the public 24/7 and physical access to the AED within the cabinet located on the PAD site can be obtained by calling the emergency services on 999.

The locations of these PAD sites have been specifically chosen for ease of access and their close proximity to frequently used areas on island. They can be located with their distinguishable green cabinet and in some cases feature a bright green light.

We have an army of volunteers known as ‘Guardians’ who oversee the maintenance of the 150 pad sites island-wide. We provide regular training and support to our volunteers and ensure the network between the volunteers offers support.
